Amazing. After taking the train to Florence, waiting for a rental car, driving the A1 to Tuscany, and finally making it down the gravel road to our house, it was Amazing. I'm never quite certain that real life will feel like what you "buy" on the internet but this place fit the bill exactly.
We celebrated our transportation feat with some vino and then headed off to the store for provisions. We nearly cleaned the small market out but, if you have ever spent more than three hours with my family, you know why. We prefer to eat normal meals at appropriate times and then fill the gaps with an unbelievable amount of snacking. Italy would be no different.
We made my dad's secret eggplant recipe that basically involves 3/4 of a bottle of olive oil and tastes fantastic. All that chopping required an aperitivo break and we spent the remainder of the evening gushing over the view, meeting the local cat, and discussing our plans for the next few days.
